I’ve shot shotguns my whole life. First my dads, then my husbands. We had a clay thrower growing up and I thought it was a pretty fun activity. After shooting 10 or 20 times though I would be banged up and bruised. I thought it was just part of it. WRONG!! When I was invited to shoot with the gals of Passionate Outlaws I had reservations because the thought of shooting more than a couple rounds seemed daunting. SHE KNOWS WHAT SHE IS DOING
I wasn't sure what to expect; all my shotgun experiences have been through the lens of the men in my life - my dad, my brother and then my husband - both shooting and purchasing. It has been one of those things - I enjoy it enough to do it, but it has always felt like I was putting on a shoe that wasn't quite my size. This all changed when I met (begrudingly) with Tracy. She showed me the guns, she tested my dominant eye, checked my sizing, etc. And put me in a left-handed shotgun. I am right-handed, I have shot righty all my life, and this just blew my mind. I could tell right away this was a change that needed to happen - immediately, I was more comfortable mounting and sighting. It took a few times to really get used to it, which was frustrating at first. But now, I am shooting better than I ever had as a righty.
